As I think about balancing work life with home life ...
Strategy-wise for getting the place stocked and functional ... Holly and I are placing product orders, starting tomorrow, for delivery at the end of next week. We are also having one of our staff members at Dee-O-Gee (the one that will be running the Dowtown store for us once it is open) spend a few hours down there this week getting the front desk and stock room area set up. This week, I also purchased a computer, printer, label printer, barcode scanner, receipt printer, etc for the Downtown Store. I plan on getting that stuff set up next week as well.
Tedious details, yes ... but they have to get done if we want to open soon! I paid our first rent check this past Monday for that location so we are entering into a few weeks of "black rent" which really bugs me ... we need to get that thing open!
Faith/hope related things - not much else to do other than pray, at this point. Each time I walk in the door down at our new store (or, at some point while I am there) I try to pray for God's protection and blessing on that location. Not necessarily that we would make tons of money and retire early (although that would really help my golf game), but I pray that the Downtown Dee-O-Gee would be a good reflection of God's presence in our lives, as part of the Downtown Bozeman community. I pray that our employees at that store and our customers at that store would somehow experience Christ by being there.
That's all I have for now ... oh ya, and we have a 9 ft tall fire hydrant in there! Stay tuned to the B+H+L Blog more details on this project!
